Hello Everyone

I'm back from my holiday in Spain..................well if you can call it a holiday. Been very busy (thank you Enbrel). Had grandchildren first weekend and Paris and myself made lots of decorations for the apartment.......we called ourselves the Crafty Girls. Second weekend we did the Christmas baking, mince pies for Santa, chocolate buns with sugar paste on top (snow) topped with Christmas decorations. I've got a cake mould for making trees and stockings so we did those as well. We then made a heart shaped cake, well I should say tried to make one. Not use to the oven (well that's my excuse anyway), thought I'd burnt it, took it out the tin and put it to cool on a wire rack and the uncooked mixture in the middle all dripped on to the work surface. Not to be beaten I cut out all of the uncooked bit and made it into a heart shaped reef. Covered it with sugar paste, made some holly to go on it and put a red ribbon around it. Looked very good, it wasn't cut, it was just for looking at, but a few days before we came home I went to put it in the bin and tried a bit and it tasted really good.

We then had all of the shopping to do and get sorted for eldest daughter and boyfriend flying over on Christmas Eve. Christmas day Julie, husband and grandchildren came for dinner, so a three course meal for 8 was cooked. Eldest daughter Karen remarked that she had not seen me so busy for a long long time, said I had been non stop. Told it it was all down to the new drug and I felt liked I had won the lottery. Karen and boyfriend went back the Friday after Christmas. We stopped at Julies (Gibraltar) new years eve, she had me walking up and down steps at midnight trying to find the best place to view the fireworks. Took grandchildren back with us New Years day and had them until the Saturday.

All in all it's been very hectic but lovely, not really had much time to ourselves at all. Weather was really good, apart from a down pour early Christmas morning and one again early New Years day it was sunshine all the time, had to put suntan lotion on, did have two windy days. Apartment was lovely

Lots to catch up on. Will post about how I got on taking Enbrel with me and how we kept it at the right temperature and will also do an update on my Enbrel blog.

Wow I feel worn out reading about your Christmas!!
Well done and I am pleased you had a great Christmas.
I can identify with you and feel that Enbrel has given me my life back and I hope it long continues for you.
Hope that this is an encouragement for all those who are wondering and fearful about trying new treatments, sadly it is not successful for everyone but it is worth trying.

Happy New Year Paula

Hi Paula,

That sounds like the perfect Christmas, and I`m so pleased the enbrel is working some magic for you. I know exactly how you feel, as it was the same for me with humoia - and it`s almost like being re-born! I know that sounds dramatic, but I`d spent time in a wheelchair until humira, and things were rather bleak.

It`s lovely to be doing things with your grandchildren - I try to make the most of ours.

I really hope the enbrel keeps on working for you!

Take care,

Kathleen x
